The bachelor’s degree studies of Stage Management and Technology develop the students’ personalities so that they become well versed in the history and present of theatre and art, understand theatre operations, theatre technology, professional vocabulary (including international) and can use their legal, economic, psychological and sociological knowledge in their professional life. The graduates are able to take responsibility for their tasks and the tasks of the members of the creative team; they can think about, plan, manage, communicate and evaluate projects.
Graduates of the bachelor’s degree studies of Theatre Management can become cultural project managers (in institutions or agencies), theatre secretaries, festival production managers, marketing managers in theatres or assistants to theatre directors. Alternatively, they can set up and run their own agencies. In addition, graduates of the follow-up master’s degree studies may become directors of theatre or other artistic institutions, heads of marketing departments in theatres or heads of culture-oriented departments in state administration and self-government.
The aim of the bachelor’s degree studies of Theatre Management is to educate experts for artistic-operational components of theatres, cultural and artistic institutions and entities operating in the field of creative industries, with prime emphasis on the theatre network of the Czech Republic. Project management is the essential theme of the bachelor’s degree studies – a theatrical production is perceived as a project in the theatre’s art programme. One of the main outputs is the organisation of the international festival SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER.
